UAE and India have a long history of trade, cultural and resource exchange.
As of 2019, the UAE is one of the top 10 foreign investors in India, its third-largest trading partner with value of trade pegged at nearly $60 billion, and accounts for the biggest source of remittances at nearly $14 billion. A strong 3.3 million Indian expat community, on the other hand, plays a critical role in the economic development of the UAE.
Fostering ties between the two nations has been the goal of UAE India Economic Forum (UIEF) since 2015.
This year, the forum, in its fifth edition, returns with a new agenda and new speakers from a variety of sectors — from banking to infrastructure and renewable energy to entrpreneurship — who will explore the dynamics and potential of the UAE-India bilateral relationship.
