Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, Minister of Housing, Oman inked an agreement with Bahwan Cybertek. The agreement, signed in coordination with Information Technology Authority (ITA), was to develop e-services for the Ministry within Oman Digital and e-Government initiatives.
Present at the signing were Saif bin A’mer Al Shaqsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Dr. Salim bin Sultan al- Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA.
The platform established under the agreement will provide over 60 e-services covering planning, real estate registration, surveying, social housing, customer services, and real estate development.
Bahwan CyberTech will develop the applications required for the e-services platform based on a consultative paper prepared by the Ministry along with the ITA.
The new platform is expected to be activated by the end of 2020 across channels including (but not limited to), the Ministry of Housing’s website and smartphone apps.
Details of the e-services platform
It has been reported that the electronic platform will speed up approvals of drawings remotely (without having to visit the Ministry), in coordination with the rules of geographic data systems associated with other government institutions.
The platform will also allow visitors to access their properties directly. In the area of social housing, electronic integration with other relevant institutions will be activated by linking databases without the need for citizens to go to the ministry.
