According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this year’s flu season is very active. Nearly 10 million people have been diagnosed with the virus so far.
Purdue School of Nursing’s Libby Richards says a strong immune system will help you avoid the flu.
Tips to avoid the flu:
- Be sure to get the proper amount of sleep each day, even if you are not sick
- Be sure to also consume healthy fluids and foods and avoid drinking too much alcohol.
- Exercise is important. You should do it even if you have mild symptoms.
